Security officer for classified information

We organise, implement and supervise the classified information protection system — in line with legal requirements and with how your organisation actually works.

The security officer is responsible for the entire classified information protection system within an organisational unit. The role demands a combination of legal, organisational and technical knowledge — and constant cooperation with the security services.

We support organisations that are building a security unit from scratch, as well as those that already have a security officer but need help with a specific task: accrediting a system, obtaining a facility security clearance, or putting documentation in order before an inspection.

The engagement model is agreed individually — from fully assuming the duties of the security unit, through ongoing supervision, to one-off support on a defined project.

Scope of services

What our support covers

  1. Implementing the classified information protection system

Preparing and adapting procedures to legal requirements, organising the security unit and supervising the operation of the registry office. We ensure the organisation complies with the regulations governing classified information protection.

  2. Classified information protection plan

A comprehensive protection plan covering organisational procedures, technical security measures and rules of conduct in exceptional situations, including breaches of protection.

  3. Security documentation and accreditation procedures

We produce the complete security documentation and the procedures required to obtain ABW or SKW accreditation for IT systems processing classified information.

  4. Physical security measures and protected zones

Designing and supervising the creation of protected zones with security levels appropriate to the information being processed. Developing, implementing and auditing physical security measures.

  5. Classified information risk assessment

Preparing the methodology and conducting the risk assessment — identifying areas that require additional protection and recommending specific remedial action.

  6. Vetting and control procedures

Conducting ordinary vetting procedures (up to "confidential" level) and control vetting procedures for individuals applying for a personnel security clearance.

  7. Supervision of IT system security

Monitoring and supervising the systems in which classified information is processed, and ensuring their continued compliance with security requirements.

  8. Industrial Security Instruction

Preparing the Industrial Security Instruction for organisations performing contracts that involve access to classified information — a document required when working with contracting authorities in the defence and state security sector.

  9. Staff training

Mandatory training for individuals who have, or will have, access to classified information — covering the legal basis, protection procedures, and criminal and disciplinary liability.

Engagement models

Three ways we can work together

Full service

We assume the duties of the classified information security unit — from documentation, through the registry office, to dealings with the authorities. Suited to organisations without their own security officer.

Ongoing supervision

We work alongside your security officer: updating documentation, running periodic compliance audits and supporting vetting procedures and inspections.

One-off project

A defined task with a fixed deadline — obtaining a facility security clearance, accrediting an IT system, or preparing the organisation for an ABW or SKW inspection.

Outcome

What your organisation gains

  • Compliance with the Classified Information Protection Act and its implementing regulations
  • Documentation ready to present during an ABW or SKW inspection
  • Eligibility to bid for contracts requiring access to classified information
  • Reduced risk of breaches and of liability for post holders
  • A trained team that knows how to handle classified information

Not sure where to start?

Start with a conversation. We will establish what information your organisation processes, which classification levels the requirements concern and what genuinely needs to be done — with no obligation and no charge for the first consultation.
